The South Dakota Library Association (SDLA) is a statewide organization representing libraries, library employees, library trustees, and library supporters. SDLA provides leadership and educational opportunities, and supports its members in meeting the challenges of providing quality library service to all South Dakotans.
National Library Week is fast approaching and to celebrate the South Dakota Library Association has introduced a new incentive to join our organization. All new members* will receive 50% off their dues for the first year. This gives you the opportunity to be involved in the library community through networking, continuing education and advocacy opportunities. We also offer scholarships and grants to our members to promote professional development.
*To qualify you must not have had an individual membership in the last 5 years. Discount does not apply to Trustees, Retirees, Students level or institutional memberships.
What is happening at your library? Let SDLA know!
It's time to begin collecting your articles, news and photos for the April/May/June issue of Book Marks! We know that a lot goes on in SD libraries and we want the community to know, too. What programs did your patrons enjoy this spring? What new ideas have you implemented lately? How has the changing political climate got your library and patrons interested in advocacy?
If you are interested in publishing in Book Marks and would like to discuss your ideas please get in contact with the editor; Book Marks welcomes longer articles for this or future issues.
The deadline for submission for the next issue is April 24.
